At Repairing Trauma, I champion HOPE that you can recover from childhood trauma and the life-long challenges that arise from relationship-based hurt.
I want to raise awareness, help educate and provide you the tools to help you create a life that heals you. I know that sometimes you need someone alongside you to help you figure things out.
I want to take away for you the time, energy, stress and overwhelm that is involved in seeking the most appropriate way forward.
I champion you.
I champion those helping someone they care about to recover.
Recovery is not easy. I get it.
However, not only is it possible to recover, you can thrive. You can achieve anything you set your mind to. I help guide your way and focus on what's possible through Individual Personal Development and Coaching sessions and Family Support Sessions. I 'slow down to speed up' to spend the time with you to truly understand.
You carers, friends, and family members need that too. I specialise in Therapeutic Parenting and Mentoring Support for parents/carers/friends.
I support you through a mixture of listening, teaching, coaching, and reflecting on what is right for you. I care to create safe, meaningful space where there is no judgement. You share only what feels comfortable. I utilise a wellbeing lifestyle approach - it's the little changes everyday that lead to the big ones.
No need is too small.
I offer a free 30 minute 'chemistry session' to see if the offer feels right for you.
Alternatively, pop me a message on the socials or an email and I am happy to chat with you to see if I can help.

At Repairing Trauma I slow things down to make sense of them. I believe that pause makes a big difference.
The Trauma Recovery Focussed Assessment utilises a therapeutic approach that focuses on understanding and addressing problems within the full context of your past and current experiences, within relationships and systems; rather than solely focusing on current individual behaviours or symptoms. I identify patterns using an open curious mindset to develop ideas about what would help. It's trauma centric in that I focus on assessing the key elements of how you recovery from trauma.
Assessments are designed to be an intervention in themselves in that sessions encourage you to think differently toward change being possible from the outset.
The assessment, or part of it, can be provided to those that need to understand your history so that you don't have to keep repeating your story. I am used to writing therapeutic letters, advocating for your needs where needed.
I am very much 'alongside' you in approach. I will check with you what feels comfortable and if it's ok to explore things in your own time at a depth you are comfortable with.
Importantly assessments aren't written in a complicated way - they are accessible, succinct, jargon free and focussed to be reflective of our initial time together. We don't need to know 'everything' in order to create change, we need to know enough to take action. I also don't provide a shopping list of interventions or recommendations which is overwhelming, I focus on manageable change. Small steps build up! As we continue our work together our approach blends assessment and support but it should never feel like you're being 'assessed'.
Anyone with a trauma history will benefit hugely from such an assessment which becomes the spine, the compass, and the road map forward in your life.

I work alongside organisations, charities, and Local Authorities who have specific needs around the assessment and/or support around childhood trauma recovery.
I am very proud to be an Associate Social Worker with Coram children's charity and a Contractor for Parents and Children Together 'PACT' adoption support and trauma charity.
I am currently developing some training programmes aimed to equip and empower you to create a life that's heals you. This is ideal if you want the information to consider and process in your own time in your own way. The aim also that the people you meet become a community around you.
If you would like to commission me, or explore training needs, please do pop me a message.

Systemic Practice is a way of working which focuses on people’s relationships as a way of making sense of their experiences. It doesn’t consider the ‘problem’ to be inside any one particular person, but that the ‘problem’ exists and is maintained in relationships between people. Systemic ideas can give us a window towards what might be helpful.
Systemic Practice is well researched and has been shown to achieve great outcomes for families, reducing risky situations and increasing positive family engagement.

Disenfranchised grief is a type of grief that is not openly acknowledged, socially supported, or publicly mourned. It occurs when a loss is not recognised by society, the relationship to the loss is not recognised, or the way someone grieves is considered unconventional. This can leave the individual feeling isolated and unsupported, making their grieving process more difficult. Much shame can be associated.
This group is for those who have lost a living parent and/or sibling through estrangement or through strained relationships.
This is still grief.
There is minimal support or awareness out there for this type grief where the loved one is alive but distant or cut off completely; making working through it even harder. This can also be called 'living loss' or 'ambiguous grief'.
Join a newly founded group where we can figure it out together in a space full of kindness and compassion. No need to feel like you have to talk about anything personal if you don't want to. Being present may be all you need and that is just fine.
Walking provides numerous benefits for trauma recovery by addressing both the mind and body, which can hold onto traumatic experiences. Its rhythmic, low-pressure nature, in nature, makes it an accessible and effective complementary approach to traditional therapy regulating the central nervous system.
No cost. Just turn up once a month on a weekend. Easy-ish routes chosen with thought for the positive impact of our surroundings. Those with good navigation skills of particular need - Kelly's been known to get lost on occasion :)
A Café for a nice cuppa afterwards a must!
